A young mother pulls the bed covers over her small boy. Outside the cold north wind is blowing snowflakes against the windowpanes of the only window in the bedroom. A lamp shaped liked so many colored balloons has been turned low for the beginning of a cold winter night’s sleep. This young boy has just turned six today and celebrated his birthday with a party. Downstairs the telltale signs of a celebration are still waiting to be cleaned. The boy whose name is Chipper lies in his bed after his mother tucks him in. He awaits the “Sandman” who always appears just after she leaves the room. As usual the child can see the small figure approaching the bed from the dark corner of his room. The figure is not fear-provoking anymore. The short gray creature has large black slanted eyes and wears a clown costume. The creature steps close to the bed and just as the Roy Orbison song states he sprinkles Chipper with some strange stardust like material and tells the boy, “Go the sleep, everything will be all right.” Later while working downstairs little does Beth Glen realize that her small son has been subjected to a real visit from the “Sandman” and will be taken to a world of dreams. It is a journey that the child has taken many times without the knowledge of his family. The young man experiences an almost nightmarish trip to a world where dreams and reality are one and the same. Are dreams the portal that will ultimately allows mankind to travel effortless throughout the universe? Is it possible to harness the power of dreams and thereby visit other dimensions? Louis is a graduate of Tidehaven High School, and Wharton County Junior College with an Associate in Arts Degree. His education was continued at Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Agriculture Education. A lengthy career in the agricultural business arena offered him extensive travel opportunities as well as leadership experience in both the corporate world and rural society.
Since his formal retirement several years ago, Louis now spends his time reading, researching the paranormal, and writing.
